STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
Purpose
This dojang is a disciplined, respectful training environment. Every member contributes to its physical and psychological safety.
Training here requires accountability, composure, and mutual respect.
1. Accountability
-
Students are responsible for their own conduct, preparation, and progress.
-
Explanations do not remove responsibility for behaviour or missed expectations.
-
Feedback is part of training and should be received professionally.
2. Emotional Regulation
-
Self-control is a core martial arts principle.
-
Visible frustration, hostility, or disruptive emotional responses are not acceptable.
-
Students must remain composed, coachable, and responsive at all times.
3. Respectful Conduct
-
No interpersonal tension, undermining behaviour, or unresolved conflict should be brought into training.
-
Concerns should be raised directly and privately with the instructor — not discussed among other members.
-
The training space is not a place for personal grievances.
4. Attendance & Access
-
Students are allocated two sessions per week.
-
Additional attendance must be agreed by approaching the Instructor in advance.
-
Access to extra sessions is based on readiness, group balance, and instructor discretion.
5. Training Environment
-
Partner and group allocations are made by the instructor and are not open to negotiation.
-
The instructor’s decisions regarding safety, conduct, and participation are final.
-
Maintaining cohesion within the group takes priority over individual preference.
6. Professional Boundaries
-
Communication with the instructor should be training-related and during appropriate hours.
-
Personal matters fall outside the instructor–student role and should be directed to appropriate professional support.
7. Breach of Conduct
Failure to uphold these standards may result in:
-
A formal discussion
-
Temporary restriction of training
-
Review or termination of membership
-

Membership to Ignite TKD is contingent on maintaining these standards consistently.
